To give a user the permission to view the sub-domain content and not your root content, create an FTP account with the same name of your sub-domain.
Example: If you have the sub-domain john.domain.com then you would need to create the FTP account john and everytime john would logs into his account, he would be sends to his sub-domain, and not your web space.

How can I create MySQL databases?
Click on "SQL Databses" and use the "Add DB" form. Please note that the name of the database will be in the form username_name-of-db. So, if your username is john and you create the database forum, the name of your database will be "john_forum".
