How and Why to CHMOD my CGI?

You need to CHMOD your scripts to give permissions to them, to tell the server they are executable, etc. CHMODing is very easy, in your FTP program, highlight the file you want to CHMOD, choose set permission (or change permissions) and then choose one of the following choice:
777 (Read, Write and Execute for everyone; the owner, the group and the world) 755 (Read, Write and Execute for the owner but Read and Execute for the group and the world) 644 (Read and Write for the owner and Read only to the group and the world) 666 (Read and Write for everyone; the owner, the group and the world)
